Grand & Toy Battery
And Cell Phone Recycling Program

 

Grand & Toy has been engaged in battery recycling in partnership with Call2Recycle® since 2011. Call2Recycle® – North America’s first and largest battery stewardship program – collects and recycles batteries and cell phones at no cost in Canada.

What Can Be Recycled?

Batteries (weighing up to 5 kg) and cell phones may be recycled. We accept many different battery types, including those you find in cell phones, laptop computers, two-way radios, back-up power supplies, tablets, and cordless power tools, to name a few.

What Is NOT Eligible In This Program?

Automotive/wet cell batteries, cell phone chargers and accessories, electronics (computers, tablets, MP3 players, video games, modems, routers, cordless telephones, printers, audio equipment, answering machines), CFLs.

How The Call2Recycle® Program Works (Participating Sites)

Call2Recycle® offers two options for collecting and recycling your batteries and cell phones: Call2Recycle® collection boxes and the bulk shipping program.

  1. Call2Recycle® collection boxes are consumer-friendly display boxes for both collecting and shipping batteries and cell phones for recycling. They can be used in retail stores, businesses, government offices or warehouses. The patented boxes come with a prepaid weigh bill and permit number, making both collecting and shipping the batteries a breeze.
  2. Bulk shipping is an option for organizations that collect high volumes of batteries (223 kg or more per shipment) and ship them in drums or other heavy-duty containers. Call2Recycle® covers your shipping costs. Please contact batteryrecycling@grandandtoy.com if this is a bulk shipping request.

Enrollment is subject to eligibility criteria. If you are an Ontario customer and would like to determine if you qualify for the Call2Recycle® Program, or if you need to register more than 10 locations, please contact: BatteryRecycling@grandandtoy.com.

Once enrolled, the first collection boxes are usually shipped to your locations within 10 business days.
